Is education the actual solution to decrease the crime rates?

Despite living on times of relative peace since wars aren´t filling everyday news like the past century, internal problems and mafia are the cause of several murders everyday and turn the crime rates of some countries even higher than they actually are. What we face nowadays is a characteristic of multiple societies around the world and that can be seen multiple times through the history of civilizations, but it cannot be accepted to continue existing in the modern world, since these acts can be considered barbaric and unorthodox.

But... What can we do to stop this murders to occur? Can we stop violence? How we accomplish that? Is there any way to make people change their minds in order to find other ways to solve problems?

First of all, in order to reduce the amount of people who are being killed, we have to get to the cause of this murders... Of course they are product of violence of multiple types including psychological since it can make a person´s life impossible and eventually lead to a suicide, which in the case of having an agresor can be considered an indirect murder. This type of violence is recurrent during childhood, where bullying has taken part of some children life and turning them into not only insecure people but also making them vulnerable to future aggressions or even aggresive themselves.

Then, physical or direct violence obviously is one main cause of the murders and the increase of the crime rates. But what can we do to actually stop it? ... One way that people usually propose to solve this problem is to improve the levels of education on each country and making education accessible for everyone. However, not only this is an objective very difficult to accomplish due to the economical factor but also it may not be enough to completely solve the problems.

Why is this? because we can observe multiple cities around the world where their countries are known for having proper educational systems that actually have a high rate of murders, such as St. Louis, New Orleans, Baltimore, which are located in the United States of America but they are still on the 50 most violent cities list published this year (2015). From that, people can see that education alone is not enough to fullfill the decreasing purpose and there has to be another factor, which i consider to be the moral education, not just an academical focused one.

So, what needs to be done is not just to focus on the studies or academical part of education, but also to give importance to moral and value focused one making it an integral education. By doing so, people from their very early stages would see violence as an incorrect solution and will tend to find another path to solve problems, and this kind of education must be accessible or taught to everyone in order to create a non violent society and cultural space.
